One Sided Horse

I am not exactly sure why this happens, but it does, a horse gets solid on 1 side, but falls apart on the other. I know its because the human works on 1 side, gets the horse used to the human being on one side. I also know horses keep danger on 1 side, and escape on the other.

Not all horses react the same, some horses keep danger on the right, some on the left.

Its easy to figure out though.

Put something spooking in front of the horse, and see what side of the body, or what eye, the horse checks it out with. That’s the side that will be weaker. That’s the side you need to work on. That’s the side you need to put the saddle on, mount on, lead from because that’s the weak side.

That’s the side that when your riding or working with your colt that when something spooky happens they are going to bail out on you on. That’s the side that when something your doing when your riding catches that eye they are going to buck on.

That’s your weak link.
