Can your horse play chess?

So what is up with people? What part of it don’t they get. The other day I am working with my horses, minding my own business when Twiddle comes by and says..
“oh this damn horse got away from me down at the river”
“uhhu” I say.
“yeah” she goes on “This is the second time she got away from me”
“uhhu” I say.
“ I am trying to sell her and a lady wants to come out and rider her on the trail so I thought I would walk her back there and see how she is”
“uhhu” I say
“She took off on me” she says
“uhhu, well your teaching her how to run away pretty good” I say
“Well I just want to get her sold, maybe I shouldn’t say trail broke on the ad”
“Yeah, that might be a good idea”
“well I want to get rid of her so I can train another one”
Before I can stop myself I say “ well if you cant get that rig sorted out, you have no business training anything else”.

Heh

Well Duh people! Someone has to be on the horses side. Someone has to look out for the horse. And you know what, its me. If I see you dicking around on your horse, yanking on its mouth, spurring it in its guts, or whipping it senseless you better look out. You better watch yourself because I am going to give you a verbal lashing you aint never seen. The horse is a simple, kind, gentle animal. It is a fun loving, good natured beast. The thing that drives me crazy is to see people ruin that, to see people take this noble, strong, beautiful creature and turn it into THEMSELVES.

My horses try, they try to be what I expect of them. I try to get better. I try to educate myself, to go beyond my safe zone for THEM, I try to offer them the best deal, and I am trying to learn how to be a fair dictator. I am trying to be the best I can be, so they can be the best they can. What would anyone else want? Why would I want something to be hard and tight and all wound up? I want something I can trust, something I can rely on, something that shows the world who I am… Because the horse does you know. The horse shows the world who you are in it…How deep you are, how fearless you are, how determine and honest you are… A horse, trained by you, will show it… Every honest inch of it… That’s your mirror, your true mirror…

Oh sure people can ride trained horses, and I will tell you, you can pick them out. The horse is dead-eyed.. oh yeah you can see it. They just go through the motions dead eyed, because they do not think anymore…… vs a horse that someone has a relationship with, a horse they have gentled and trained, sweated and bleed over…
Yes, that horse is awake, that horse is thinking… THINKING!

LOL!!! A Thinking horse? Well I be damned that would put the fear of god in some people!

Ride your horse without reins and see how much you get…

Ride it like you stole it!
LWZO!
