Did I say I could ride?

Ride it like you stole it, ride it like you stole it….

Gah, I wish, IWISH! I could get that through my thick head…

I remember at a clinic a young woman was riding and her horse and for some reason it took off on her, full out gallop, tearing around the other students, and the girl, you could tell stopped riding… She started to look like a pole stuck up on that horses back.. Now, she was basically just looking for a place to fall off…

Then Buck yelled… “ Get to riding that thing! What’s a matter you never rode a gallop’n horse before?!!!”

Once he said that, she started riding, the horse calmed down and it was over… With a class of students licking and chew’n!

Its something I try to remember… Instead of looking for a place to get bucked off, look for a place to ride too….

Erggah….

Instead of trying to hold the horse in, let em go… They soon enough realize that all that work running around is kinda crazy… You never asked for it….

Yes…. Silly Rabbit… Tricks are for kids…

Then there is the other side of the coin… Less draggin and more doing… Less pulling around and more thinking about where you are gong to go…

I am learning that… trying to get the horse thinking… less anticipation and more effort…
I know I am working with Marshal on that… Less chunky monkey… More putting your heart into it, more try and better reward.. Softer, lighter… moving with feel… with timing…

Light years away…
