You are my sunshine!

So I am learning something about horses.. Learning about how they think.

It is a fascinating journey. I am also learning, how much they can turn to rely on us, and how we can build on that, use it to strengthen our relationship with the horse.

One thing that came into focus was last night it was late, and dark and I turned Marshal out in a large spooky jumping arena and he went bucking off into the night. Later he came charging up to me, and put his head down for a rub... then once assured, he went off bucking into the dark deep again... A little while later back he comes for a rub...

I was his herd.. I was his assurance. I need that in the saddle and together, we can do anything.
