McGinnis Ranch - Reflections One

So I have spent the last 7 days up in Montana at a guest and cattle ranch called McGinnis.
I am sitting here in the lodge on the last day of riding, listening to the other guests share pictures and talk about the day...

I reflect on the days... they seemed to go so fast.
Up at 6am, gather the horses by 6:30, saddle and grain, and then breakfast at 8am.
Then out on in the arena at 8:30 until 12pm. Lunch.
Then head out and gather the cows we will work from 1 to 5pm till we grain again and turn them out..
Sort, cut, rope, and ride...
5 solid days of riding, 5 solid days of learning, experiencing, and trying to make the horse I was riding better, trying to be better, smoother, softer, better with my legs, better with my seat, better with my hands...
Trying to be better...
Trying...

Yet don't let me misguide you... It was tough, it was cold .. 18* in the morning, and maybe 40 or so in the afternoon...

It is dusty, cowey and windy...

Yet in the morning we had the best breakfasts, the lodge is wonderful! ( better then my house ) and the dinners.... YUM!...

There were stories too.. One of the owners Shanye shared his experiences, shared his knowledge, shared his wreck stories to we could hopefully learn from them.. Shared the fact that none of us were born riding, we were born to learn born to study, born to get better...

Of we should...
