Watching a video of Ray Hunt working with the colts, I saw him working alot on the ground. Getting the softness, getting them to respond, with less...

Then I saw him ride...

But I did not see much...

Which was the purpose...

Less is more...in order to get more, ask with less...

The other was how important the seat is, and the legs... How minimal it needs to be, how much the horse needs to be listening.. How important the basics are...

Its important to know, that a horse that is troubled is not going to be able to listen, they are going to be troubled...

So how can they hear the fine notes, when all the hear is the noise... You need to get them untroubled, in order for them to move on...
