I survived.......

I survived...

I am not sure how it happened, but it happened....

Saturday my trainer says ok, lets go for a trail ride with Emma...Last time when she had Marshal, I got to ride Lotus and she rode Marshal so I could see how he was...

So I figured I was going to get a nice trail ride...

Hmmmmm

Thats not what happened.

1. I know Emma is Spooky
2. I know Emma has not been ridden out on the trail
3. I know the trail is spooky, and very hilly and well a bit crazy.. it is not trail 101.

So I ask, are we going to do the little loop or the big loop...

Of course, she says the BIG LOOP...

cough...

Can I write my last will now.....

I said,

" Hey Bonnie... "

" you know I am not a bronc rider..."

She says, oh you'll be fine...

"uhhu"

I am tired, I am grumpy, I had a long week... I am exhausted and now I have to get on Emma and go into Wilder?

Are you friggen nutz...

But I pulled on my big girl pants.. and say what the heck... I can always get off...

So I get on... she is loose like a long necked goose and we head down into the park with Lotus in the lead...

Dear God...
Please remember I have always tried to be good....
Please let my Dad and Mac know I Love them...

*sigh*

Well Emma is one big SNORT.. .I mean I don't think she stopped snorting...
We ran into hikers, bicyclists, joggers and a couple of coyotes and a road sign that was surely a horse eater...

We managed steep hills, boggy marshes, slippery rocks, single track trails, mountain lion holding gullys, and WINDY WINDY trees and hills.

That was just the first half of it...

The second half of it was riding past the Santa Cruz Dump.... *sigh*

Plastic bags, huge winds, big trees shaking and flapping... and a long stretch of steep down hill that is slippery and difficult...

Uh.. gawd..

I was tired...

Emma was a champ..

There were several points where she wanted to be in the lead.. which was great and I gave her the reins and let her go.. There were only a couple of spots where she startled... but Lotus helped her along... She didnt bolt, she didnt jump or buck... She cantered out a couple times when she got nervous, and she charged a bit up and down hill.. but overall she was trying to listen...

And I survived...
