Why, oh Why, Didn't I take the blue pill?

You know, its funny... I mean not in that Ha-Ha Kinda way, but more in that... oh my gawd I shudda seen that coming sort of way...

Its one of those things that we learn in an evolutionary manner... vs a more "Ahha!" manner.

Working with horses teaches you that for certain..

It teaches you, without a doubt about the $100 bet....

you know.. the $100 bet....

hmmm

I can see you scratching your head....

Let me go into detail to what the $100 bet is.....

Its that bet.. you make with yourself... its the bet that you say hey....

If I get on this horse today.... am I willing to bet $100 that everything will work out ok...

If I try to get this horse to cross that bridge with the two T-posts on either side, that if I bet $100 neither of us will get impaled...

If I try to canter today with that horse running loose in the field next to us, that I bet $100 my guy wont lose it....

Its the litmus check we use to make sure we
1. Dont set up our horses to fail
2. Dont set up ourselves to dust the dirt from our asses
3. Keep the ride and what we are aiming for successful.

That lesson... learning the $100 bet pays off...

It pays off because we stay on the right side of trouble...

It forces us to take collection of what is going on with our horses maybe a bit further then we would have...

It teaches us the meaning of respect... Respect for our horses and how much respect they have for us...

So next time your dinking around... and you think

" Ah I think I will try this thing... "

before you do, ask yourself...

"Would I bet myself $100 bucks I can do xyz and it will be successful?"

if the answer is no, go back to the basics and make sure you think it will work... then try it...

Otherwise... you may be paying out more then just $100 bucks... :)

HiHo!
